Troubleshooting
Why can't I get a GPS lock? (The application says 'GPS enabling' or 'GPS partial position'.)
- You need to expose the phone to an open sky for longer. The first time the GPS is used on a phone it may take more that 20 minutes before you get a GPS lock. This is especially true if your phone's firmware does not support A-GPS, like some early N95 firmware versions (Your phone may benefit from a firmware upgrade see here.)
- Your phone does not have a built in GPS and your external bluetooth GPS is not connected.
- If your phone has a slider open it, this improves GPS reception on some phones like the N95.
The appplication shows "update failed" and then nothing happens.
Try selecting a different 'access point' in the settings view of the application. (Scroll down in the settings view to see this setting.) Ususally, compatible access points will be called something like "Internet" or "GPRS data".
Why doesn't registration work on my S60 v3 phone?
Because your phone's browser is too old to support the registration web site. An alternative method of registration will be provided soon.
I have a different problem with phonelocator, can you help me?
Please email support@phonelocator.mobi with your question. Please specify the phone you're using in the email.
it is likely that access point setting is not set to an access point that can connect to the Internet.
Try changing this setting to an access point that can access the internet.
